Skye
Practice Cat

Skye, the practice cat, has been working hard
since she joined us nine years ago. A small, scared, and nearly frozen kitten
mysteriously showed up in the practice backyard on a frigid winter morning in
1997. With lots of love, attention, and medical care we were able to nurse
little Skye back to health. Since then Skye has taken her role here at Blue Sky
very seriously. She is a CHABS – a certified human-animal bond specialist. She
loves her work and has no plans on retiring anytime soon.
Skye is very proud of her pearly white teeth,
which she keeps sparkly clean with regular dental cleanings and routine
applications of Oravet. In the fall of 2005, Skye developed an intermittent
lameness that was diagnosed as a luxating patella (a loose kneecap). Dr
Johnson performed surgery to repair her knee in the spring of 2006. After a
short stay at Dawn’s house to recuperate (including lots of physical therapy and
TLC), Skye returned to once again rule the roost at Blue Sky.
While on duty, Skye’s special interests include:
bossing around the other team members, comforting waiting clients, and mentoring
patients on good patient etiquette. In her free time, Skye enjoys a
variety of hobbies - napping, eating, playing and purring!
